The Writing Resource Center serves the students, staff and faculty of the New College of Florida, offering direct support for writing, both academic and non-academic. Writing is an intensive, complex and multifaceted skill, the cultivation of which requires a sustained engagement over time. Writing is a critical component of professional and academic development, critical thinking, and, intellectual maturation. It is for the promotion of each of these that New College requires writing in the course of every student's personal and academic development. In service to the College and its mission, the writing resource center promotes writing as the practiced skill of employing writing as a tool for structuring thought so that it might be clearly presented in language to an audience for the purpose of understanding.
